About the Artist

ARTIST STATEMENT

I collect discarded glass bottles, reclaimed materials and sourced materials such as textiles, beads, and crystals, and transform them into one-of-a-kind sculptural figures, I call Bokeshi Dolls. My work explores the intersection of environmental consciousness and intuitive craftsmanship. By utilizing discarded bottles as my canvas and adorned them with crystals, beads, and textiles, I challenge the viewer to see value in the overlooked.

In a world defined by urgency and noise, my work is a commitment to slow art. This process serves as a meditative sanctuary where I relinquish the anxiety of daily life and trust my intuition without doubt. I do not impose a design on the material; instead, I wait for the idea to emerge, letting the glass and materials guide me. This practice is an exercise in patience and presence, proving that when we stop rushing, the most profound creations have the space to reveal themselves.

ARTISTIC PRACTICE

Mediums: Sculpture, mixed media, assemblage
